Hi Sonna, I was just wondering out of curiosity if you would say that you found the actual years of studying medicine harder then the first year of health sci? Or just as intense?
Of course the amount of content and level of difficulty of the content is a step harder in medicine, but at the same time:
1) You’ve got a base of scientific knowledge from first year
2) You know how to study effectively for you by now
3) There’s no pressure to get “top grades” anymore
So definitely a lot more chill 🙂 You can work as hard or as less as you want to.
Random question.. but which laptop do u use ?
Hey Vani, I actually don’t film on my laptop – I use my iPhone 🙂
Hi Sonna,
Absolutely loving your vlogs!
Just wondering if you did any sort of preparation for the MMI interview? i.e. tutors etc
Stay groovin’!
Hey! I never got a tutor and don’t think you would need to, but to prep for the interview over the year, I stayed informed of current events and topics such as euthanasia, vaccination, the election, the housing crisis etc. Closer to the interview, I spent a lot of time reflecting (and writing down this reflection in a journal) on the marked qualities, and experiences in my life where I’d shown them best, as well as my personal reasons for wanting to study medicine. That way in the interview when I was reading the questions, I had a “bank” of ideas of what to say in my head without blanking! When you live at halls, your mentors will often organise “mock” MMIs with the interviewers being their classmates in medicine, pharm and optom, to help us get some practice. Practicing with friends and family was super helpful too 🙂
